As an Australian dad, you’re going to be responsible for dragging a mountain of things from the car to the beach, picnic area or camp grounds and this is where a beach wagon shines. Load them up full of toys, boogie boards, towels, food, umbrella, esky, fishing gear and away you go.
They also come in handy if you need to do a long trek with the little kids (theme parks etc) and they get too tired to walk. You can throw a couple of toddlers in the wagon and drag them along while they eat snacks like some type of Egyptian pharaoh.
Note: Only the Burleigh wagon meets the Australian standards to be a stroller, so you’re not “supposed” to put kids in them but let’s be honest with ourselves.

What to look out for in a beach wagon?
Foldable: You need to be able to put it in the back of the car with the stuff you’re about to lug about. The bigger it is the less likely your
Tire width: Wide tires work best on the sand. The thing tired models are good for parks and paths but make it very hard to drag across the soft sand.
Max weight: pretty self explanatory. Can it take the punishment of all your gear/kids.
Sunshade: Comes in handy when you’re dragging the kids along (which we said we’re not supposed to do)
